West Moors has a real English village feel to it, you are surrounded by greenery, masses of outside space and not far from the property is a family favourite in the shape of “Moors Valley Country Park”.

In the heart of West Moors, there are two local pubs perfect for Sunday lunch or a couple of quiet drinks with family and friends, various shops, a baker and a butcher. There are two first schools, one middle school, two youth clubs; including the West Moors scout group, and a skatepark.

West Moors is steeped with railway history, the village was on the Southampton and Dorchester and Salisbury and Dorset Junction railway lines in the late 19th century and was later served by a branch line railway until 4 May 1964. The original level crossing at Gatekeeper’s Cottage on Station Road and the trailway footpath following the original track bed to Ringwood and Poole are now the only remnants of the railways in the village.

The village of West Moors is close to the A31 which connects to the M27 and M3 via the outskirts of Southampton to Winchester. Bournemouth International Airport is just 6.4 miles from the property. It is the fastest growing airport in the UK.

Further afield from West Moors is the neighbouring town of Ferndown. Ferndown has many shops, two large supermarkets and some local eateries suitable for all tastes.

A ten minute car journey will see you at Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre on Matchams Lane. Snowtrax is an artificial ski slope and hosts many functions, children’s parties and lessons for those wishing to learn to ski or snow board. Also on Matchams Lane is the popular Matchams Market and Matchams Raceway Banger Racing.
